Basin Park Music Series kicks off in April

Music in the Park is back on April 20th.  Joe Purdy and SmokeyDewdrops will kick off the Third Saturday concert series for 2019 with an evening of great folk music.  The free concert in Basin Spring Park begins at 6:00 p.m.

Purdy is a singer, songwriter and self-described “hillbilly.” His latest album, “Who Will Be Next?” plants its feet deep in the tradition of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs and others.

SmokeyDewdrops consist of two combined bands—Smokey & The Mirror and The Honey Dewdrops.

Smokey & The Mirror is husband and wife duo Bryan and Bernice Hembree who have toured nationally and internationally over the past decade. The interplay of their two unique voices coupled with engaging, accessible songs form the foundation of Smokey & The Mirror.

Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish are celebrating a decade of touring full time as The Honey Dewdrops, having played stages and festivals far and wide in North America and Europe. With tight harmonies and a musical ensemble that includes clawhammer banjo, mandolin and guitars, the effect is to leave listeners with only what matters: the heart of the song and clarity over ornamentation.

Third Saturday Music in the park is brought to you by the Eureka Springs CAPC and runs April through October.
